Don't Let this Kill the Call

This Sunday at Southridge, we continued our Ink & Fire series with Part Six: “Don’t Let This Kill the Call.”

In Romans 6:1–4, Paul reminds us that grace isn’t a permission slip—it’s a power source.
We died with Christ. That means certain things can’t live in us anymore.

Sin doesn’t just slow us down—it can silently sabotage the call of God on our lives.
Drunkenness, pride, lust, jealousy, the need for approval… if we don’t bury them, they’ll bury us.

It happened to Saul. He had clear instructions from God—but his craving for approval cost him his calling.
Undealt-with sin doesn’t go away. It grows until it takes more than you ever expected.

We’re often fighting enemies we can’t see—temptation, bitterness, insecurity.
But just because it’s silent doesn’t mean it’s not deadly.

You don’t need to manage sin—you need to kill it.
Not in your own strength, but through the power of Jesus.
Because when you die to the flesh, you come alive to purpose.

What are you still carrying that God already gave you the power to bury?
This could be the night you lay it down—and walk in the newness of life.
