This past Sunday, we kicked off our new sermon series Ripple Relationships with Part One: Ashes and Altars, based on Job 2:1-10. The message explored how the ripples we send out in our relationships are shaped not in easy seasons, but in the hard ones—when life leaves us sitting in the ashes.
We were reminded that the question isn’t if we’re creating ripples, but what kind we’re sending. Job’s story showed us that even the most faithful aren't exempt from pain, but it’s what we build in the ashes that matters most. In the middle of loss, Job chose not to curse God or abandon the people around him—he built an altar of trust, showing that faith ripples out strongest when life feels broken.
